Data Scientist

Overview

We are looking for a talented (Senior) Data Scientist to help shape Alife’s technology. In this position you will work closely with the data science team, in addition to software and product teams, to understand clinical needs, organize and process large clinical datasets, and design and implement algorithms that will improve patient outcomes.The ideal candidate for this position has hands-on experience developing algorithms for medical devices, a strong background in data science / machine learning, and is excited to work in a highly technical, fast-paced, and cross-functional startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Research and understand the clinical problems we are trying to solve
  • Inspect, organize, and parse electronic medical record (EMR) data and/or image data
  • Design and implement machine learning algorithms for regression and classification tasks
  • Work with software team to deploy trained models into production
  • Assist with algorithm testing and documentation
  • Stay up to date on clinical, scientific, and technical literature

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in computer science or related engineering field
  • 2+ years hands-on experience in data science / machine learning with large tabular datasets
  • Proficient in Python and machine learning libraries (SciKit-learn, SciPy, NumPy, Pandas)
  • Experience with training neural networks (PyTorch, Tensorflow)
  • Experience with cloud computing (AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Comfortable in Linux/Unix development environments
  • Organized, self-directed, efficient and able to manage priorities and expectations
